Hi zusammen.

Mein geliebtes Manjaro liegt komplett danieder. Zuerst wollte ich das üblichen Update durchführen (per GUI). Das ging nicht mit der Meldung: "Festplatte voll".
Per bash sagt mir ein schnelles "df", dass:

Stimmt, da steht:

Leider bin ich das Problem nicht sofort angegangen, sondern hab den Rechner runtergefahren und erst am nächsten Tag wieder hochgefahren. Dabei passiert dann das: "X-Server startet nicht. Wahrscheinlich fehlerhaft konfiguriert bla-blub....."

Grafische Oberflächen werden also nicht mehr unterstützt, ergo kein MDM lädt mehr, ergo nixxe Mail, nixxe Browser, nixxe garnichts.
Per Terminal kann ich noch agieren.

Mein erstes Anliegen an euch: Falls ihr Links zu diesem Thema/Dilemma oder sogar Erfahrungen habt, wäre ich unendlich dankbar!

Ich muß jetzt immer umständlich zwischen (Terminal-)Manjaro und diesem dämlichen Win7 hier hin- und herwechseln, um Infos zu holen bzw. zu kommunizieren.

Ich vermute, dadurch dass dieses System-File /dev/mapper/ManjaroVG-ManjaroRoot nicht mehr beschrieben werden kann, funzen jetzt auch weitere Prozesse einfach nicht mehr. Aber ich kenn mich nicht wirklich aus.

PS: Ich poste fleißig weiter Infos, sobald ich welche hab und damit dieser Thread hier für andere hilfreich wird. Wenn die deutsche Com damit nichts anfangen kann, poste ich das Thema nochmal im englischen Forum und werde das dann hier verlinken.

PPS: Meine Freundin - der ich immer Linux schmackhaft machen will - zetert jetzt. "Ich hab's dir doch gesagt... bla-blub..." LOL

Mit

du -hd 1
kannst du dir die größte der Ordner anzeigen lassen. Erstmal musst du dahin kommen das das System wieder startet.

Yo, das hat schonmal was gebracht. Paket-Cache gelöscht + fleißig Dateien aus "/var/log/journal" gelöscht:
/dev/mapper/ManjaroVG-ManjaroRoot   29G     11G   17G   38% /
Bin also einen Schritt weiter.
Leider: Der X-Server läßt sich immer noch nicht starten. (Hoffe, da sind jetzt nicht diverse Dinge kaputt gegangen.)

Bleibt die Fehlermeldung die gleiche wie im ersten Beitrag ?

Eventuell mal das einfachste ausprobieren und xorg reinstallieren.

sudo pacman -S xorg-server --force
ggfs. das gleiche nochmal mit dem Grafikkartentreiber.
Ansonsten alles mögliche sinnvolle an Fehlermeldungen etc ausgeben die du hast.
Auch mal ein Blick ins journalctl riskieren.

journalct -b
ist jetzt zumindest schick aufgeräumt.

Ja, die Fehlermeldung ist die gleiche. "X-Server nicht richtig konfiguriert...."

Ich versuch, das morgen ins Forum zu bekommen. Muß jetzt los, werde morgen neue Infos reinreichen, wenn es welche gibt. Hoffe, ich muß das System jetzt nicht Windows-like plattmachen und neu überbügeln. Schonmal Riesendank an euch!

Update: Hab xorg-server neu eingespielt, wie vorgeschlagen. Leider keine Veränderung.
Aus der Log-Datei (/var/log/xorg...) werd ich auch nicht viel schlauer. Bin ratlos. Hier mal das letzte Drittel der Journal(-b)-Ausgabe. (Mehr verträgt die Forumssoftware hier nicht.)

Naja, dafuer hat win anderes.............

Habe nur mal quergelesen und ueberflogen

einmal ist mir aufgefallen das du laptop mod installiert hast

zum anderen wie ich es interpretieren, gabs "platte volll" und du hast ausgeschaltet.

Ein moeglicher fehler koennte bei downgrade "nvidia" entstanden sein.

installiere dir nvidia (soweit ich es richtig verstanden habe) abermals ggf mit option -f dann

Das mit dem Notebook Mod ist mir gar nicht aufgefallen. Die Maschine ist ein Desktop. Bei der Installation damals ist mir nichts aufgefallen, und Notenbook-Optionen hätte ich auch nicht aktiviert. Alles lief soweit auch immer prima.

Hab jetzt mal das Update versucht (pacman -Syyu) und bekomme ganz schnell folgende Fehlermeldungen (genau 2, dann bricht er ab!):

Fehler: GPGME: keine Daten
Fehler: Konnte Datenbank 'kps' nicht aktualisieren (PGP-Signatur)
Fehler: Datenbank 'kps' ist nicht gültig (Ungültige oder beschädigte Datenbank) (PGP-Signatur)

Das scheint es zu sein. Zumindest eine der Baustellen.

Probier mal die Signaturen zu erneuern;

sudo pacman-mirrors -g -c Germany
sudo pacman-key --init
sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux manjaro
sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys
sudo pacman -Scc
sudo pacman -Syyu

Damit es NIE WIEDER passiert :

Man soll Update immer im TERMINAL Ausführen,
zuerst IMMER alte Pakete löschen mit:

sudo pacman -Sc ;)

und erst dann mit

sudo pacman -Syu
updaten.

Und damit die Logs nicht unfassbar groß werden

sudo leafpad /etc/systemd/journald.conf
ersetzt man in der Zeile 21

#SystemMaxUse=
mit

SystemMaxUse=50M :)

Ja ist Deckungsgleich mit dem Wiki-Beitrag. Falls noch mehr beschädigt sein sollte müsste man eventuell auch den Schlüsselbund neu erstellen.
Wie Gypsywolve schon schrieb könnte auch das nvidia-Paket beschädigt sein.

Ja genau das wäre dann meine letzte Frage gewesen, wenn alles wieder läuft: Wie verhindere ich das Überlaufen der Logs? Danke für diesen Tipp!

Und zum Updaten. Ich nutze XFce, und unten rechts ist immer so ein bequemer roter Knopf, der mir per GUI dann alles schön einfach aktualisiert. Ich denke, wenn das eine unsichere Methode ist, sollte die Distro diesen Weg nicht unterstützen. Vielleicht bin ich aber auch nur zu faul / bequem geworden.
